All the kids at Slaughter Elementary had the sense to steer clear of Old Lady Ketchel’s place. Everyone except for Bobby Briars. And for his folly, Bobby and his parents mysteriously disappeared. You see, Hagatha Ketchel had a bone to pick. Not just with foolish kids like Bobby Briars, but more specifically, with Enoch Slaughter, the self-appointed mayor of Slaughter, Minnesota.

Little did she know how their union would ultimately cause her descent into insanity. Fueling her transformation into a vengeful sorceress, bent on causing bedlam and destruction.
What was it that caused Hagatha’s transformation? And would Enoch and the residents of Slaughter survive the onslaught?

The Asa Minir series is phenomenal! I just finished book 9 in rhe series and I am desperately trying to access your website to get Book 10. But I keep getting an error reading saying: "Access denied". WHY?
At first I was skeptical, it started a bit unusual than mmy usual type of book. But it draws you in, and is so raw and honest. I went on emotional roller coasters with the poor girl! By book 3, where I’m at now, I keep forgetting it hasn’t been years, but mere months in which these characters, especially Aja ha lived about 3 lifetimes of emotional and moral upheaval. Really love the series so far.
This series was fantastic. The storyline in on par with John Le Carrie's The Constant Gardner. After 37 years in healthcare, it's a little too plausible!
The concept is good, but the writing is a little abrupt. That's the best way I can describe it, instead of smooth corners, the writing just turns sharp 90 degrees over and over. One second we're meeting this guy and next minute he's gone (without any spoilers) and it's so abrupt and baffling even when it is explained. Same with her powers, everyone just accepts them, without any doubts or confusion. Again, I like the concept but I ended up stopping the reading after book 2.
Gifted, cursed, and emotionally wrecked - thanks Aja. At first, Aja Minor: Gifted or Cursed felt like the usual setup, a psychic teen, a crime thriller vibe, and the promise of a series. I thought I was just dipping my toes in. Then the story grabbed me by the heart, dragged me into its depths, and refused to let go. I became fully immersed, emotionally invested, and yes, ugly crying happened. Repeatedly. If you're planning to read this, bring tissues. A Costco-sized box should do. The writing pulls you in slowly, then hits you with gut-punch after gut-punch. Aja is compelling, raw, and real. Her gift is both a blessing and a burden, and the way the author explores trauma, justice, and survival is intense. That said, this book does contain graphic depictions of sexual assault. If that's a trigger for you, please proceed with caution. I absolutely recommend this book. But fair warning: once you finish, you'll want the rest of the series immediately. And then you'll stare at the $70 e-book price tag and start negotiating with your bank account and your soul. Is it worth it? Emotionally, yes. Financially, I'm still working on my justification spreadsheet
I was really looking forward to the next book in the Loralei trilogy and boy, was it good. Some really unexpected twists and turns. An amazing read and I can't wait for the next book.
Well done Chris
Can't beat the Hagatha series. Keeps me at the end of my chair!! Glad Chris continued his Hagatha series. Was waiting for it. Looking forward to the next book of the series.
Read the first 3 books first. I love this author. The only thing bad about this is that I have to wait until fall for the next book in the series to be released!
Aja is an amazing character and completely relatable. I appreciate that the graphic details are minimal as the subject matter is tough enough with out adding too many visuals.
An excellent book showing the trials of a young girl struggling to come to terms with her unique gift.
I'm looking forward to reading the whole series.
